a client detection software is required. Mobile DNA represents an important element within our enterprise mobile solution; this solves the issues of inconsistent user experience. Mobile DNA determines the attributes of most mobile devices, including device type,
operating system, screen size, media required and more.
Mobile DNA™ supports two types of applications; video transcoding and image transcoding. With video transcoding, the client detection application detects the client and then chooses the best resolution, bit rate, frame rate, or codec for that particular device. With image transcoding, the client detection application can work with leading image transcode software and detect the best resolution for image transcoding for devices. Mobile DNA is compliant with the Mobile Marketing Associations (MMA) specifications for image transcoding and can support up to 5,000 image requests per second.
The application also captures important analytics such as mobile handset geo-location and carrier network information. Based on a powerful database structure which handles in excess of 3,000 handsets and clients, Mobile DNA provides reports identifying statistical trends, new clients, new features, or updated player installations. Mobile DNA provides frequent updates keeping the database current and accurate as new video-enabled attributes are released in the market.
Scalability
Mobile DNA ™ is a SAAS solution. Currently, it can service up to 800 requests per second where 75% of these requests are
pointed at cached content.
